Wow, That's a Lot of Money!
| This project Wow, That's a Lot of Money! will train teachers to use our simulation Taxation With Representation the Penny Game and the Social Security and federal budget proposal booklets from The Concord Coalition,as well as our innovative literacy (thinking/writing) materials and activities. Our trainings are hands-on. Teachers take the student roles and we walk you step-by-step through the simulation. We also demonstrate how to integrate the literacy activities with the simulation. Participants in this one-day training sessions receive: | |
1. One “Taxation” simulation. 2. One set of The Concord Coalition’s “Penny Game” and the Social Security and budget booklets. 3. A set of nine literacy lessons and a Teacher's Guide, aligned with the Language Arts standards. 4. Money for substitutes or for yourself. 5. A $25 stipend for classroom materials. 6. After the training, we provide on-going support. |
